47th Annual Fiesta Navideña

The League of Mexican American Women (LMAW) are proud to present the 47th annual “Fiesta Navideña”, The Betty Rodriguez Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser. This year we will host the Fiesta Sunday December 4, 2022. Do not miss this annual holiday tradition.

Through this production, we raise money to support deserving students to further their educational aspirations. Over the years we have awarded over $511,000 in scholarships to students in Fresno County. These awards go to deserving students of varying talents and abilities including students often overlooked by many but recognized by us because they show promise. Some of our recipients do not attend four-year institutions but instead choose to attend two-year community colleges or Career Tech Schools. While we recognize those students who excel academically, we know that a successful individual is not always at the top of the class. In our screening process we seek out those students with unique financial needs, consequently several of our recipients are DACA students.

The LMAW is a community-based organization that was established in 1973 by women who were involved in community service, social programs, and politics but rarely in a leadership capacity. Our mission is: Promote the advancement of Latinas, through educational attainment, leadership development, cultural enrichment, and volunteer service.
